Coming back

I know I've been such a bad blogger. I've neglected my blog for months and I have a few reasons why. Even though I had posts in the draft - like the second part of the event that I will eventually post -, being in Sheffield was overwhelming in such a good way that I simply postponed writing.
I knew I had to write something, I knew I had to edit the pictures and post them, but somehow I always found something different to do - and then my coursework was becoming this huge mountain that I could no longer ignore.
England has been an amazing experience and I want to tell you everything. I am still not over with my Erasmus exchange as I will be back in Sheffield for one extra month in which hopefully I will visit many different places.
I've met wonderful people and visited many beautiful places I want to tell you about, just bear with me a bit more!

However, not everything has been as great. Being alone in a different country forces you to grow up in many different aspects and sometimes I feel like struggled with that, although I can I've become stronger.
Being away from the people you love is also difficult, especially when there is someone there you want to see before they leave. I'm talking about loss here - I did not expect to lose someone while I was in England and even though there was nothing I could do about it, I can't help but wish I had seen them once more. I'm still dealing with this event, still shocked because you're never ready to say goodbye even when you know it will eventually happen.

This is just a short post just to let you know that I'm here, and I'm alright and I'll start posting regularly again. I can't wait to catch up with you guys.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday time.

#SheffieldBBloggers Event | PART 1

Hello everybody!

On Saturday I attended the #SheffieldBBloggers event that Georgina, Heather and Ashleigh had been organising for months. I feel so lucky for attending my first Blogger Event and I'm so happy to have met so many people. I must say I was feeling veeeeeeery nervous and awkward at first but it all went smoothly!

Treating myself in Sheffield | HAUL + Swatches

I know I apologise a lot but I'm genuinely sorry I haven't written in ages. Now that I have settled in and started university here, I'm happy to sit down and relax to write about a few things I've been doing and buying as well.

I'm still figuring my way around Sheffield and their different shopping centres but I've been to Meadowhall three times and I have fallen into the temptation of buying a few goodies.

ROOM TOUR & HAUL

Hello lovelies!

Sorry that my posts haven't been the best lately. I actually deleted some because I noticed nobody commented - yup, I do that - so I was like "hey, maybe these were crap, let's start over" and still I think the lack of catching up on other blogs is paying off... I honestly don't have time and when I do all I want to do is sleep but I'm going to schedule a few posts now and see how it goes.

Anyway, as you may know I'm in Sheffield now and of course I have already gone to Meadowhall. SO wonderful. You can expect a future haul coming, I think, as there is a Student Lockdown in Meadowhall next week - and of course I'm joining in! Everything will be 30% off and mama needs a new parka! (And a few other things, we'll see!)

I'm living in a city accommodation, not in campus, but so far I'm having the greatest time of my life meeting new people and having tons of fun (eh, even if I'm an ERASMUS student I gotta join those Freshers events, right?) I still haven't gone to like all the parties and stuff, I've just been hanging out with the people I've been meeting for the past week and I'm having such a lovely time here.

WHAT I WORE: University of Sheffield's Welcome Reception 2014

Hello everyone!

I have a few hours before I start walking around the city of Sheffield to discover new places - but here I am! I'm here! I've made it to the UK! I hope you're all doing great.

Even though I arrived a few days ago - on Wednesday, to be exact - I haven't really had the time to sit down and chat with you. I'm starting to catch up on your blogs now, I hope you bear with me!

I'm an Erasmus student at the University of Sheffield for one semester and my friend and me decided to attend to the Welcome Reception to get to know a few people. Turns out we made a big group in a matter of minutes, it was so wonderful.

NAKED 3 | First impressions

Farewell presents seem to be something that I keep receiving lately. For example, my parents paid half of the computer I'm writing from - YES, I HAVE A BRAND NEW LAPTOP! - and even though it's not an Apple, this badass laptop is 17 inches and it's just wonderful (it's a Toshiba Satellite, in case you are wondering!)...

But I have also received this wonderful gem. I'm not a Urban Decay virgin, I received earlier this year my first Urban Decay palette: the Naked Basics. It's great, easy to use, easy to apply, and the neutral colours are amazing for daily basis. I also have the Naked 2 - a really good replica - that I'm happy with and that I use frequently. But the Naked 3, oh boy! Pink is my favourite colour so a palette including only pink-plum shades was like the best thing that could happen. I was thinking of buying Iconic 3 by Makeup Revolution but this came earlier than expected thanks to my best friend.

Life lately...

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing great today. Apologies for my lack of posts these days as I have not had the time to sit down and write some posts to schedule!

I promise to get back at all your comments as soon as I have the chance as I have limited access to the computer right now for the lack of time I have. I have been taking some exams and preparing everything to move out and these weeks have been just so stressful, so I will let you know some highlights!

So what have I been up to? As you may know, I'm leaving to Sheffield in exactly one week. I'm going to study half a year there thanks to the ERASMUS scholarship that I've been given. I can't hold my excitement and nervousness and truth is, at some points, I feel very overwhelmed. Not in a bad way, though, it's not like I'm having some sort of panic attack and I want to stay and not leave - that's something very different and I'm sorry for all the people who suffer anxiety and panic attacks on a daily basis. I mean, I've been feeling overwhelmed because I haven't gone anywhere for so much time and I'm a very familiar person, but this is the life and the path I'm choosing and it will also help me grow in so many ways that I know everything's going to be alright. Also, this is one of my biggest dreams ever so I can't wait... I mean, what are seven days? What is a week?!

I have been hanging out with my friends a lot, that's why my blog has been a bit slow. Some of my friends depart to Barcelona and Madrid to continue their university degrees, some stay here in Mallorca and, well, I'm leaving to the UK so we have been hanging out as much as we can. We have had like 3 farewell dinners, no joke. (And I have the ultimate farewell dinner on Friday... or Saturday... I have no idea! And yes, the farewell dinners have been with THE SAME PEOPLE. Gotta love my friends)

Oh, and the other pictures... well, my cousin got married! And it was such a wonderful wedding. The dress you see me wearing is from H&M and I got it a day before the wedding. I had already a dress I bought two ages ago for another wedding that I honestly love so much but I saw this one and I couldn't resist. It's gorgeous and very simple, but so beautiful too!
As I've mentioned, the wedding was amazing. It was so multicultural and familiar and

As we speak (I mean, as I write) I had to take a 5 minutes break to scream. I have been taking some retakes because this semester hasn't been the best - but I passed one of the worst subjects I remember: Phonetics. And not only that but got the highest grade - I mean hellooooooooooo! Isn't that a good reason to party? So I'm one happy Spaniard right now.

And that's it!

I also have plenty of good things to share with you, hopefully soon. Like, very, very good things. Just stay tuned and bear with me, I promise to be back with some normality soon!!

What have YOU been up to?!

My skincare routine with Thea Skincare

Thea Skincare is an organic skincare brand that has been offering free samples for reviewing purposes to Beauty Bloggers on Twitter.
I didn't know anything about this brand until I saw them offering said samples but I looked into the brand and I was very interested in their story. Even though you can read the full thing here, summing up I'll tell you they founded this business after the founder's first time in Africa. She had quit her job at 50 to start her own business, an organic brand mixing ingredients from Africa and Asia.
They have won several awards as well so I was quite interested in trying their products. I got them attached to a lovely letter explaining their story further and my excitement grew when I saw the samples in a cute purple bag.

What goes around, comes around.

It's crazy how life is sometimes. This post is going to be sort of personal, based on a bad experience in a restaurant. Summing up, one of my closest friends has come back to Mallorca for a couple of weeks. She works in London so she came here to catch some sun and enjoy some holidays before going back to work...

Three BASICS for Autumn-Winter

As you may or may not know, I'm moving to England soon (20 days to be exact) and that means I've been going crazy and organising plenty of things for this - and that includes clothes.
Let's be honest - England is already pretty chilly by the end of August. Definitely nothing compared to our 35ºC. That means that by the time I move in, I'm going to need plenty of layers! (Even by October we enjoy 20ºC - so yes)
Thankfully for me, I've been getting GREAT DEALS on sales for the past month and I've bought pretty cute things - and also my parents have, because they do really love spoiling me and especially now since their little girl is moving out for half a year.
So I'm going to start showing you three pieces of clothing that I think should be in every girl's wardrobe. But hey, that's my opinion, and you may differ from that!

DO's & DON'Ts when you blog

Congratulations, you own a part of the Internet. Something on the Internet is yours - and that's your blog! Of course you have Twitter, Facebook, Instagram... but nope you have your little website (or big, I don't know!) and it's yours. That's amazing.

I'm not a renowned blogger so probably writing this post may be seen as pretentious, but I've been blogging for almost seven months now and I've learnt a few things on the way that may be useful for you and your blog.

INTERVIEW WITH THE BLOGGER

So it happened.

Scrolling through old posts I found that the Blogmopolitan Quiz I filled was very popular - and super fun to do - so I decided to create my own! Vastly influenced by Two Thirds Hazel's Blogmopolitan series, I've created "INTERVIEW WITH THE BLOGGER" (as in Interview With The Vampire but... yeah, blogger). If I find out people like it, I may create more quizzes because I think they're super fun and they make youf eel like you're actually being interviewed by one of those magazines we all read.

REVIEW: Mask of Magnamity by LUSH

It is known by everyone my obsession with LUSH and all their products. I just love their policy and the fact that all their products are 100% vegan. I'm not vegan, however I love using very natural products on my skin since we all damage it with different chemicals.

This is what the brand says about it:

A multi-purpose mask with a mixture of gentle yet effective ingredients to clean, calm and clear the skin - now in a self-preserving formula.

2€ BB Cream from H&M: Are bargains worth it?

ARE BARGAINS WORTH IT?

What a trick question. Bargains sometimes trick us into thinking we need something when we actually don't - and then if it's useful we wonder how we've lived without this item all this time... am I right?

Crissy Chats #17: One month

And suddenly, it hit me.

You may remember my post, back in March. On March 28th I knew I was moving to England for half a year and three days later I posted it on my blog, sharing the good news. It's been an awful lot of months and it hit me in August that I'm moving in a month. (N/A: As I'm editing this, there is EXACTLY one month left. I wrote this post on August 6th, I'm posting it on August 17th and leaving on September 17th)

The Bargain Haul

Excuse my lack of posts - again - recently but I've been slightly busy - again. As you may know, I'm soon moving to England and that requires an awful load of papers to fill and things to prepare. I finally got my one way tickets - for now as I will come back for Christmas - and blah blah blah... the sooner it gets, the more Erasmus preparations related posts will be.

This brings me to the fact that I told myself I would be on a spending ban. Well, that hasn't happened. I do really need to save money for my new laptop but I went out and I ended up spending on things I actually needed and... surprise, surprise: THEY WERE BARGAINS (specially considering the fact that the sales are over)

Now you may be wondering: "But Cristina, did you actually need those items?" YES. And I'll tell you why!

Crissy Chats #16: The British Tag

Hello everybody!

Yesterday I received a notification on Twitter from the lovely Charlotte (thanks for the tag!!) whose blog I discovered the exact time she sent me her link because she had tagged me on a tag! And not just any tag, The British Tag! I had seen this - like Charlotte - on Essie's video but this tag was created by Sammi from The Beauty Crush so I think this is super fun!

Although I'm not British, I'm a big fan geek of British culture so let's see if I'm that British or not - all of you who read me and hold a British passport can judge, hahaha!

Lips on fire

Hello lovely people!

Apologies for the lack of posts as these days have been busy here, but here I am, with something to talk about!! Originally this wasn't going to be the review I wanted to post today but I thought it was worth it.

I'm presenting you the Rimmel's Colour Rush Long Lasting Intense Colour balm in the shade 600 ON FIRE.

Beauty Haul #1: Lush & Rimmel

Hello lovelies!

I'm back from a super nice day with one of my friends named Judith. She's a beauty and fashion enthusiast like me, unfortunately she doesn't have a blog so I can't link you guys her blog to check but she's very nice and awesome. We both went out for lunch and we also bought some things I really want to show you.

And it includes Lush. AGAIN.
(The people from the Lush shop already know me - what a nice feeling)

I can't believe that it's been six months since I started blogging and this is my first beauty haul (as in buying more than two products in one day) so that's why I'm putting "beauty haul #1" because I consider it my first big haul for my blog!

July Favourites

Hello everybody!

Thanks for commenting on my camera post! That post was merely informative, I will do a full constructive review as I use it. I've been loving it so far though and yes it records in HD! So it's an amazing camera.
This is my first post using my new camera so I hope you enjoy what I have for you!

I've got a new (and affordable!) camera! (+ example pics!)

Hello everybody!

Firstly, I would like to thank you all for voting me in the Get Noticed Awards as I've won the Quirkiest Blog award! That is so awesome, I'm so happy! Thank you very much!

I'm sorry I've been so absent these days but I'm here with good news. I've been working hard for the past week as it was my last week in a summer camp. There are a few things I really wanted to buy with the money I got and one of them was this camera. It's not a reflex, but I think it will do a good job.

Crissy Chats #15: 30 before 30

Hello everybody!

So a couple of days ago I saw this post on someone's blog - although it wasn't the first time I saw it. SORRY, I don't remember whose blog was it but if I find it I'll link it!
I thought it would be something nice to write about on Sunday - as you know, it's Crissy Chats Sunday so here's a bit more about me!

I'll be coming back to this post everytime I do something from this list!

"IT" by Alexa Chung

 Hello sunshines!

(The following post may contain spoilers)

So I finally received this book that has been on plenty of bloggers and critics' mouth this past year. It is the very first book by Alexa Chung IT.

Let me tell you that it's a wonderful book - outside. I love the cloth cover, the name typography, her eye, everything. It's just very cute. I love the smell of it, too. (Some people sniff cocaine, I sniff books)

In all honesty, I've read more bad reviews than good reviews or reviews that only say things like "it's a good book to spend some time with" and I remember a review which said something along the lines of "it reads just like a blog."

LUSH'S I LOVE JUICY SHAMPOO: yay or nay?

¡Hola!

So a few days ago I went to LUSH.  As you may know, my obsession with Lush is getting serious here. I had promised myself I wouldn't get there as I've got a few products I still haven't used enough. (I don't want to disrespect my products by not using them...) However, I tried a sample of a shampoo and I told myself I'd buy the whole thing. In Spanish is Mi Primo Zumo y Sol but in English is I love Juicy. It helps greasy hair and makes it shiny and nice - plus it smells so fruity!

I've always been quite interested in buying a bottle even though they're quite expensive. I remember I told myself  "7€ for a 100mg bottle? Hell no." But I tried the sample and I noticed that I didn't need much shampoo to wash my hair that I thought I would give it a go.

Crissy Chats #14: THE BLOGMOPOLITAN QUIZ

Hello everyone!

Today is Sunday and that means CRISSY CHATS! If you're new here or you don't know what it is, Crissy Chats is a Sunday post in which I post about personal things or I simply ramble about things. I also take the chance to put the tags here so I thought the quiz fit perfectly on my blog today.

I saw this on a blog from a reader and I thought it would be so awesome to do so here it is! Something different for you to get to know me a bit better. If you wanna do it to just click here and check the main post of many different bloggers who have done it. Isn't it cool to feel famous just for one day? Sometimes you need that on a Sunday.

I invite everyone to do it and if you don't feel like it, you can tell me your answers on the comments as I'd love to get to know all of you a bit more!

I hope your weekend has been great. What have you been up to?

I would like to take this chance to tell you that I've been nominated in the GET NOTICED BLOG AWARDS as the Quirkiest Blog so... thank you! That's an interesting category. If you'd like to vote me and get to know a big bunch of awesome bloggers, you should click here!

The unexpected fashion haul

Aloha everybody!

Geez, it's hot today! It's starting to get really, really hot in Mallorca. Way too sunny, way too humid... but still I went on a walk with my parents and we all ended up buying some things. My parents are so good to me and decided to pay for all these things I'm about to show you.

WEDNESDAY WISHLIST: An Intro to Rock on Ruby

Hello everyone!

This week I've discovered such an interesting brand. If you know me, you'll know I'm a sucker for graphic t-shirts and slogan t-shirts in general. They're called Rock On Ruby and they sell the smartiest slogan tees I've ever seen. I'd wear them all! And guess what? They have a Blogger category because, well, if you're a blogger, you have to show it off!

The people working at Rock On Ruby are pretty awesome and kind - and they told me they enjoyed my blog! And that's great because I enjoy their brand and how communicative they are with bloggers. As social media users, they remind me a tad of Makeup Revolution's community managers so brownie points for ROR!

I wanted to share with you my top 4 tees from ROR and the reasons why they're my four favourite tops. Although they sell plenty of crop tops, I don't feel comfortable wearing crop tops at the moment so I picked some loose tees that I hope you like as much as I do.

1. DON'T WORRY BE YONCE: This was actually designed by a blogger (Inthefrow.com) and I think the slogan is so funny and amazing that, seriously, I need this t-shirt. Badly. This is from their Blogger Collection.

2. I AM NOT A MORNING PERSON: Self explanatory... This is from their Slogan tees collection.

3. GLEN COCO: I love Mean Girls! This t-shirt is funny, I would love to trick people into thinking I'm wearing something fancy instead of the name of a character from a movie reference. This is from their Mean Girls collection - ISN'T IT COOL?!

4. CRYING ON THE INSIDE LIKE A WINNER: They have a fit collection and this t-shirt is from there. It's actually a quote from the movie "The Other Woman" and I love it, and the meaning behind is awesome. It's such a motivating t-shirt!

But wait, if this isn't enough for you... how about I tell you YOU CAN MAKE YOUR OWN T-SHIRT?  Exactly. They allow you to create your own slogan and they print it for you and send it your way. Isn't it awesome? It's cool that they allow you to create your own things. And I think it's pretty affordable too. But if that wasn't enough, how about I tell you I have an EXCLUSIVE discount code for you?!

Yes, yes, you've heard me! Or... read me. If you buy anything from the shop, you can use the code MYCUPOFTEA10 for you to get an 10% off your order! Works with anything you buy from GIRLYNIGHTSOUT (http://www.girlynightsout.com/tshirts) so don't miss your chance and get it!

Overall this brand is great and I myself can't wait to get something. I'm glad I got in touch with them and offered me to give my readers a little treat! That was super nice from them.

I would like to take this chance to tell you that I've been nominated in the GET NOTICED BLOG AWARDS as the Quirkiest Blog so... thank you! That's an interesting category. If you'd like to vote me and get to know a big bunch of awesome bloggers, you should click here!

FOTD: That time I pretended to be a Kardashian

Hola everybody!

I've been feeling poorly so sorry for the lack of posts. Yesterday I went out to have a quick snack with my friends and chit chat with them previous to the World Cup final (congrats, Germany!) and I did this quick make up look - and believe me, it's as easy as it looks.

5 simple ways to improve a blog

Hola lovelies!

Today I'm writing something different. Do you remember my "7 things I learnt while blogging" post? Apparently, plenty of people really enjoyed that post so I thought I would write a post on simple ways for new bloggers to improve their blogs.

MY FIRST TIME: MAC

So it happened.

About more than a month ago, I did a Wednesday Wishlist and I included several things. One of them were some trousers I got - not the same ones, but very similar - and one of them was... Impassioned by MAC.

Crissy Chats #13 Everybody has a bikini body

Hello everybody!

Now that the Summer is here, I would like to talk about something that worries a big percentage of the female population: "Having a bikini body." Now, what is a bikini body? Is it being skinny? Then what about the curvy people? Is it having big breasts? Then what about the small breasted women in the world?

Saturday, 5 July 2014

Quick and easy summer make up looks!

Hello everyone!

Sorry for the lack of posts! These days have been so stressful as I've started working in a Summer Camp and I had a birthday party and I have honestly been sleeping most of my free time - I'm such a granny! Now that I've come back from the beach for a relaxing day with my best friends, I decided to write a quick post on two looks I've done using my What You Waiting For Palette from Makeup Revolution!

Crissy Chats #12: INK

Aloha everyone!

Welcome to Crissy Chats number 12! This is my weekly post in which I talk about personal things or I post tags that are related to me so you guys can get to know me a bit better!

I wanted to talk about something quite personal but that I get asked a lot anyway. As you may or may not know, I have a tattoo on my right forearm in Greek. I want to talk about this and give you some INKspiration, because, why not? Tattoos are cool.

Wednesday Wishlist with PERSUNMALL

Hello everyone!

I don't usually post fashion but I'm on a hunt for nice blouses and tops and I decided it was time to do a wishlist hoping it inspires my readers, too! I picked six pieces and I'm going to tell you exactly why!

1.
I love this blouse. It's very simple but I don't have this colour in my wardrobe and I'm a big fan of mustard colour for some reason. I think it's great and it can be layered, placed on top of a tank top!
[LINK]

2.
I love pink - as you know - and oh god, this blouse is just wonderful. I don't have blouses like this and this colour is amazing!
[LINK]

3.
As soon as I saw it it caught my attention. It's very casual but I think it can be worn in different occasions like a meeting with black skinny jeans or even a skater skirt for a stroll around the city.
[LINK]

4.
This sweater seems so comfortable and cozy. Of course I'd wear something unerneath, but this colour is brilliant! I don't have anything like that in my closet - at all!
[LINK]

5.
I'm a huge fan of Breaking Bad and this boyfriend t-shirt is a must for me. Behind it says "I'm the one who knocks" and I think it will look great with some skinnies and sneakers!
[LINK]

6.
This black top is definitely something I'd wear for a nice dinner or night out. I think it's very sexy, too! I love everything about it, 'nuff said!

Had you ever heard of Persunmall before?

Do you believe in LUSH at first sight?

Hello everyone!

Not sure if my pun makes sense or not... but yes I compared Lush with love, that was my plan! After I finished an exam I'm not sure it went as good as I expected, I went out for lunch with my best friend and I stopped at Lush because I've honestly wanted to go for a few days and I finally got the chance.

I tried LUSH for the first time a month ago and I finally came back to try more things from them! I only picked one thing but I came back with a two samples which I can't wait to try!

Crissy Chats #11: Life lately...

Hello lovelies!

These past two weeks have been crazy. I've been an adult for most of the time, studying, going to meetings and sorting my accommodation out for England. As you may know, I'm going to move to Sheffield in September for at least half a year and I have been in touch with several accommodations until me and eventually I picked one I already knew about. My friend was okay with this so we booked!
I'm moving in roughly 84 days - roughly? Who am I kidding here? ACTUAL 84 days as I have them counted in a wonderful app, haha! You can tell I'm excited about it.

Review: Mr.Nutcase

Hello everyone!

Apologies for not posting in a week - the past seven days have been crazy for me but I have so many exciting things coming on - including exams and everything related to my future in the United Kingdom starting in September - and I will let you know what's up on Sunday!

I'm sneaking out of my studying session this Friday (studying on Friday, yes!) to talk to you about something I received yesterday in the afternoon and that I've been loving so far.

5 tips to cope with exams

Hello everybody!

Firstly - THANKS for all the lovely comments on the template I uploaded for you guys, it makes me happy people like it and download it. Again, if you have any troubles, please contact me.
Secondly - I made a template for me although I'm going to change it for sure, I'm digging the way it looks but I will probably play around it a little.

Now... I haven't posted in a little while because I'm studying for my finals. If you've finished - I hate envy you a lot. Like a big lot. I start mines in a week but I have been studying for a week now for my last exam because it's the one I'm most worried about.

So I figured some of you may be doing with exams too and I decided to put up a list of 5 tips to cope with exams that have worked for me and that can lead you to success!

FREE BLOGGER TEMPLATE: Monday Morning

SURPRISE!

I decided to take a step and start designing again. I used to design when blogger used the old interface and this one is like a pain in the arse for me. However I've been practising and I decided to put a simple black and white layout for any kind of blog for everyone who would like to have a different layout or whatever!

Crissy Chats #10: Would You Rather TAG

Hola everyone!

Yesterday, the lovely Joey, tagged me in a new tag and I thought that, since I hadn't done these in a while and Crissy Chats are usually for personal posts / random rambling I would put the tag on Sunday. So, Joey, thanks for tagging me! <3

Get ready with me: Night out!

Hello everyone!

Ahh this is my first get ready with me post but I thought it is quite appropriate as I went out the other day with my best friends to a really well known club here. I could have filmed it but I'm too shy to film all this. However I hope I get the courage to film this someday somehow!
