What's In My Bag? #2 Pack your essentials! (Travel Edition)

Hello lovelies!

As you may know, I'm leaving tomorrow for a weekend away to Barcelona and I'm very, very excited about it so that's why I have decided to make a post about my travelling essentials!

I'm going to carry this leather bag as my carry on bag but I'm also carrying a suitcase. However this bag won't leave my side at all! And I wanna have some essentials with me at the airport. You will know more about this leather bag in the future as it's the bag I use to go to university and I'm planning to write a post about it - however I can tell you it was a great deal I got in a market here in my island (26€ when the seller wanted to sell it for 45€) and that is the only piece of actual leather I own.

Long hair, don't care; dry hair, yes care!

Hello lovelies!

A few days ago, my mum went grocery shopping and came back with a great deal. They offered this Schwarzkopf pack for 4,95€ and she thought it would be very useful for us taking into account my hair is a bit dry since I got my ombré done and her hair is very damaged after dying it a lot!

These products claim to repair your damaged hair, as simple as that. Using the shampoo does a lot but if you also use the hair mask, the results will be better. (And the conditioner helps, too, but it wasn't in the pack... sadly!)

Berry on my lips

Claire's Lipstick in Berry RRP: 3,99€

Hello lovelies!

I know I'm on a spending ban - and believe me, I still am! However, there's the 3x2 in cosmetics deal in Claire's now and my best friend was like "Hey, pick something! As a present!" we both went for some lipsticks. I've never tried Claire's lipsticks before but I really needed one like the Gothic Glam range... and I found one that looks the same!

Crissy Chats #2 Weekly Favourites ♡

My week on Instagram, featuring Ed Sheeran, new lipstick and randomness!

Hello lovelies!

How was your week? Mine was a bit exhausting and eventful. I started the second semester (eek!) although I'm quite motivated! However, I'm SO not looking forward to waking up at 6 almost everyday...

On the bright side, I'm going to Barcelona this following weekend! I'm super excited about it. I have already talked about this on my previous Crissy Chats. My best friend and me are seeing Fall Out Boy and also some friends who live in Barcelona because they study there, so I can't wait! I see my friends often because they always come here for holidays and random weekends but I wish they were here sometimes! We grew up together so I always miss them. At least we keep in touch no matter what!

I've been going to the gym again, I'm trying to see how can I merge my university schedule with my gym hours and I think I'm going to be able to make it! I like gym, I like taking care of myself. I like feeling sore because it's the kind of sore that pays off. I think it's sort of therapeutic, too. Everytime I feel stressed I think that going to the gym, running a bit even if it's just sprinting for 30 seconds, helps a lot! And of course, a good playlist helps. If you're interested, I could write a post about a healthy lifestyle and share with you some of my favourite tunes for gym! Let me know down below!

Hammam Mint (20 bags) RRP: 4,50€
Tin from Rituals RRP: 3,50€

Of course, I've been drinking tea a lot - as it's usual with me. I love tea, any kind! Green tea is my favourite, I must confess, and yesterday I got this awesome tea as a present from my best friend! I bought the tin for my mum (she loves tins for some reason) and my best friend got me the 20 tea bags. It's from Rituals, a brand I've been dying to try on in every aspect and hopefully I'll be buying more and more things from them.

I also got a lipstick that I want to talk about tomorrow - it was also a gift. I have the post half written and I can only show you how it looks but if you want to see more about the brand, name and price you'll have to come back tomorrow! (Yes, that's the pic from above!)

Overall, I had a pretty nice week!

Currently loving

♡ Music: Into the Blue by Kylie Minogue. I can't stop listening to it!
♡ Book: Silver Linings Playbook by Matthew Quick
App: Simpsons Tapped Out! Still hooked!

What have you been up to?

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

How to mantain ombré hair

Hello lovelies!

I think we can agree when we say that ombré hair has been a trend for the past two years. If you don't know what ombré hair is, it's when the hair goes from one tone to another, but progressively. For example, from brunette to a caramel tone on the tips, in the middle you're going to find a colour in between.

I have had ombré hair for a month already. It was the first time I dyed my hair and I was a little bit scared. Watching some videos, it seemed like getting ombré hair at home wasn't going to be difficult. However, I decided that someone who was experienced like a hairdresser should get it done for me. And phew! I'm so happy because some people don't know the difference between dip dying your hair and ombré hair and I didn't want to destroy my long, brown hair with a bad ombré hair (because, who are we kidding? When you get your ombré done, you are applying bleach to your hair and that's always bad!)

This is not ombré hair.

Review: bargain brushes from DealExtreme

Hello lovelies!

SOMETHING IMPORTANT: the domain will be unavailable for a while in a few days. I need to fix that so in case you're reading me from there, make sure you use the blogspot url again in case it doesn't work!

A few days ago I talked about an order I was expecting. I had ordered some brushes from the website DealExtreme which is a Chinese online shop where you can find anything. It's a really nice place. The only inconvenient I found is that sometimes it takes ages for the order to arrive... this came fairly quickly though! In like 15-18 days! I'm very happy.

They sell brush sets and I was interested in getting one from them. There were plenty of possibilities so I went for this set:

Let me talk to you about...: Equivalenza perfumes

Equivalenza perfume bottle 30ml. RRP: 7,95€

Hello lovelies!

As a student, you may guess that I don't earn much money so sometimes I can't afford buying the brands that I like - sometimes I have to go for dupes. And hey! If the quality is as good, that's amazing. At the end of the day, when you're wearing make up or using a perfume, you don't show the brand everywhere - unlike clothes! Sometimes the brand is literally everywhere.

My favourite perfume is Nina by Nina Ricci. The smells is just so perfect, so fresh and sweet it's really intoxicating. However, again, as a student sometimes I can't afford buying the real thing and this is the story of how I met your mother the brand Equivalenza.

You never know!

Hello lovelies!

If you remember my wishlist, you may remember I added the Wake Me Up Foundation but I came across the Match Perfection one and I couldn't resist (5,99€!) I honestly wasn't planning to get something - maybe some random goodies at Kiko because there were great deals - but when I saw that I decided to get it because most of you and other bloggers had recommended me to use that one instead!

A guide on how to spend Valentine's Day

Hello lovelies!

Not my pic! Found on Tumblr. Credits to its owner.

I would like to apologise because I couldn't post yesterday. The thing is, my computer has decided to give up on me so I'm now switching from Macintosh to Windows for a bit and as an Apple fangirl that's kind of hard! I'm using my brother & my parents' computers for different things, but I promise you the posts are going to be regular here!

Anyway, HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! I really hope everyone is having a good day, whether you're single or taken or you still don't know what's going on with your heart, I'm writing a post to spend a great day no matter what!

What's in my bag? #1

Shana handbag RRP: 12,99€ @ Shana

Hello lovelies!

You've guessed right by the title and the picture — I'm writing a What's In My Bag? post! I'm tagging it as #1 because I'm sure I will do plenty in the future or in different occasions as in "what's in my bag when I go to university" or "what's in my bag when I go out at night"! This is a normal one — what I usually carry with me everyday when I go to run an errand or just to be out and about the city.

Leather effect on nails | Yay or Nay?

Hello lovelies!

Have you ever heard about the leather effect on nails? I had heard about it but never tried them until I got a nail polish from Claire's. My best friend and me would go there and get some every two days because they were 3x2! That was an insane offer plus their colours are beautiful — and I think the quality is also quite good.

I had been looking for a burgundy colour for a while back then (that was before I got my Burgundy Kiss by Maybelline Color Show) so I got that nail polish instantly without knowing what it would look like!

Rouge Allure 104 Passion by Chanel

Hello lovelies!

I think every girl needs at least one gorgeous red shade lipstick in their life. It doesn't have to be one from a highstreet brand but it must be one you enjoy wearing and it definitely makes you feel beautiful.

I feel lucky to have one of the most beautiful red lipsticks I've ever seen in my life and I was also lucky because this was a present. If you have read my post about January Favourites, then you'll probably know about this wonderful lipstick.

TMI | The Tag

Hello lovelies!

Every Sunday, I would like to write a personal post; probably some tags or my week in pics thing but this week hasn't been too interesting plus I haven't taken many pictures so I think you have to wait a little bit more for that!

However, I have seen bloggers doing that TMI Tag and I thought it would be a lovely way to introduce myself to my readers a little bit more. I want to say that you're invited to do it since I'm not tagging anyone specifically!

TMI stands for "Too Much Information" and there are going to be fifty questions... yes, exactly. It's quite long, but shall be fun!

If you wanna do a speech bubble thing like I did, click here!

Hello lovelies!

It's always better late than never, right? I have wanted to make a January Favourites post for a while because I would like to show what I've been enjoying last January — and there are so many things I have enjoyed! Not all of them are beauty related but I hope you enjoy them anyway! Probably you'll see some of them were presents given to me because of my birthday! — Perks of celebrating my birthday on January 9th!

I'm trying to fix something with my comment section because I'm not allowed to reply directly but simply leave another comment myself so that's why I go to your blogs and leave a comment there, I hope that's ok!

I'm writing today a post about skincare to tell you about one of my favourite daily skincare products, the PURE ACTIVE FRUIT ENERGY GEL WASH by GARNIER
Does your face normally have imperfections like open pores, black spots, or is your skin pretty much oily or a mix of oily and dry? I invite you to check this product out and see if you think it would help you out!

Hello lovelies!

The Liebster Award

Check that! Wow! This is my third post and I've already been nominated to a Liebster Award which is pretty much impressing. The lovely Iz from I is for Iz nominated me and, of course, I decided to answer the questions! Plus I love tags, I think they're lovely and really entertaining. It can help you know better the blogger!

These are the rules:

  1. Answer the questions the tagger has set for you, then create 11 new questions for the bloggers you pass the award to.
  2. Choose 11 new bloggers (with less than 200 followers) to pass the award to and notify them of the award.

Would you like to see the questions I answered and my nominees?

Review: Naked Basics

Ever since I got interested in make up, I noticed everyone talked about the oh so wonderful Naked Palettes by Urban Decay. When I checked their price I was even more shocked because people spent 30-45€ for an eyeshadow palette so it must be really good. Like, really, really good.

My birthday was three weeks ago but last week I gathered some of my closest friends and we had dinner... and guess what? They surprised me with late birthday presents! Since I have told my best friend over a thousand times that I needed to buy one of those palettes, she told my friends and they surprised me with the Naked Basics Palette by Urban Decay as well as an amazing eBook, which I will be talking about in my next posts!

Awkward first post... anyone?

This is my second attempt to keep a blog — the first one this year, though. I know third is a charm but I believe this one will stay with me for a while (crossing fingers!)

My problem with blogs is that I get bored easily. I guess I'm someone who becomes interested in so many things in little time that I always take different directions on the blogs or journals I'm writing... and I really need to fix that. I had (well, I still have it) a blog which was bilingual, I had visitors and all so it's not like I was writing for my mum and two more friends but I noticed I was always so bored of translating things into English.

... so yes, you can pretty much guess I said "screw translating posts!" and I'm happy with this decision because this will only make me improve my writing skills whether I like it or not.

In all honesty, I never thought I'd end up running a blog about beauty and lifestyle but I've found myself really interested in those topics and I thought I'd give it a go. I believe I'm not the typical beauty blogger (I'd never consider myself a beauty blogger — I mean, I haven't written a beauty related post yet! — and of course I'd never consider myself a beauty guru) so maybe I can provide you a different pov on beauty in this blog, maybe a funny side too.

About the name: "Definitely my cup of tea"... well, easy. I'm a big fan of tea, I prefer it over coffee that's for sure. Beauty is my cup of tea, it's something I'm genuinely interested in since it can be a form of art (I mean, that's why a make up artist is called like that, right? Artist) and also I'd like this blog to be something you can read while you're drinking a cup of tea (or, well, it's alright if you're a coffee person because you're accepted in here too), I'd like this blog to be something entertaining to read... so that's why!

And that's a wrap! It wasn't as awkward as I expected it to be (I really suck at writing "first posts" and I've done so many that it's kind of ironic) Thank you for coming and taking the time to read this awkward first entry, I promise I will get better and better, just give me some time!

Much love,

Cristina xx
