Hello everyone!

I'm sorry for the lack of posts lately. I have my midterms coming up so I've been studying like crazy! Fingers crossed that my first midterm will turn out fine though, it's way too dense!

Anyway... yes, I kind of blew the surprise for you guys. That's probably my biggest life update ever. As you may know if you follow me on Twitter, I'm receiving an Erasmus scholarship for the next academic year and that means that I'm moving to Sheffield in September! Yay! For now it's going to be half a year, but I plan to stay there for a while... (a loooooooong while) since my boyfriend is from England. For now, I'm guaranteed to stay there five months and we will see if I can extend it to an academic year! I'm super excited about this! Also quite scary as I have never lived somewhere else for a long period - the maximum period of time I've been away from home was for two weeks in London.

I'll be studying at the University of Sheffield and I feel super lucky. I don't know for how long I've dreamt about studying abroad and living in England specifically but to me this is a huge thing and the fact that I'm going to live this experience is beyond extraordinaire!

My motivation regarding my degree has improved so much - I used not to be very happy about my degree in English Studies, and I'm still not 100% happy, but definitely I don't hate it anymore and I'm so happy that I'm working things out and getting good grades again.

All this means that I've been saving money since the day I knew this was going to happen - Friday - and that I'm definitely going to be on a spending ban and buy things I think are extremely necessary... but that also means I'll find a way to get more creative with my posts!

How was your week?

The world on my wrist

Hello internet!

How are you doing? I wanted to make a post for this item I received yesterday. Isn't it gorgeous? I really wanted a new watch and when I saw this on eBay I couldn't resist. What was even more irresistible was the price...

2.44$ (link)

I think it's such a cute watch to wear, so elegant, and it comes in different colours although I picked the black one because the brown one wasn't available - but I love it! The watch works perfectly and the details are neat and not blurred at all! I'm in love!

Do you usually wear watches?

Review: Naked 2 (or Naked "2 good 2 be true")

Hello girls!

Sorry about the bad pun, haha! Remember when I told you that I had ordered my Naked 2 on Buyincoins? Well, if you don't remember, I'll refresh your mind a little bit. Two weeks ago I visited and I bought the Naked 2 replica for 5$. Yes, 5$. It arrived on Monday (how fast!) and here I am with the post I promised you: my review on the Naked 2 replica.

Review: HASK Haircare Products

Hello lovelies!

About a month ago I got in touch with Hask and they allowed me to try their haircare products. I thought it was an amazing oportunity for me to discover a new brand and when I saw what they were selling I was in awe. Keratin protein and Argan oil haircare products! I had to try them!

What's in my bag? #3 University Essentials

Hello lovelies!

I know I haven't been too active these days and now you knwo why! University has been draining me a little since midterms are coming... eek! However it looks like people are enjoying the "what's in my [insert item here]" posts, I decided to write one about my university bag. I really hope you enjoy it!

I took this picture today with my new iPhone 4S and I'm so impressed with the quality that I really wanted to share it with you.

This is my bag (10€). I already talked about it in my PRIMARK HAUL post and it's amazing, so big! Check what I have in my bag!

I carry this huge folder (around 1€) with me. It has my academic life so if I lose it I'm so dead. Well, just kidding,, it's not my academic life but I carry plenty of notes and photocopies that are useful for my studies... of course! It has my timetable and also a picture of Steven Gerrard (English NT captain / Liverpool FC captain) and I fangirl a lot over him, yes.

My university planner (3,99€) (not shown in the picture but it's in my bag and I already talked about it) & pencil case (around 1€), of course! I'd be so lost without it, I swear. (I would be quite lost without my purse, too!)

Sometimes I carry my make up bag (3,99€, not shown in the picture) maybe some essentials because my uni is close to the mountains so I carry a lip balm with me but that's about it. I don't tend to reapply my make up when I'm there.

Of course, WATER. I need water. I usually bring my own bottle but I forgot it at home so I bought that one at university.

And that's pretty much it!! As you can see, I'm very simple and I really carry what I find necessary. I did not include the phone because, well, I took the picture with my phone!

What are your school/college/university/work essentials?

Crissy Chats #4 Online Purchases: be careful and know your rights!

Hello everyone!

It seems like these days I don't seem to post much. Lately I've been slightly busy with uni and I don't get to post much. Sometimes I prefer quality over quantity and I'd rather have a slow week when it comes to posts than writing posts daily without really knowing what I'm writing.

Overall my week has been pretty nice (even if we obviate the fact that I fell asleep on Friday and I couldn't go to class) I have been going to the gym or exercising at home. When it comes to some workouts, I'd rather do them at home because I don't feel like doing it at gym... even a simple squat! I know it's silly but yes! For example I'm following Daily XHIIT workouts for toning my torso and legs, and I feel ridiculous doing those exercises at gym so I'd rather do them at home hahaha!

Enough with the life update! Let's get down to business!

Online Purchases: be careful and know your rights

Remember how last week I talked about Buyincoins? [LINK] I read some comments about people willing to try out the Naked replicas there. I don't know if you're aware that it seems like getting the Naked 3 replicas are now harder because they are selling fake Naked 3 replicas (yes, a fake of a fake!) and they sell completely different colours so be careful if you do!

Found here
Some replicas are good replicas, but some others are... well, these. Interesting though because I believe they have even changed the names. Those colours belong to other palettes anyway...
Same happens with some Naked Basics replicas. Depending on which one you buy, you get the exact replica or you get six random eyeshadow colours from a Naked palette. So yes! I would definitely advice you to be careful because I know that it's something that has been happening in Buyincoins and Aliexpress. I wanted to get that replica but for now I'm expecting the Naked 2 one.

Anyway, some replicas are sold for 30$ but the ones on Buyincoins are sold up to 10$ (although right now they're about max 6$) so it's not a big loss. However, some girls that have experienced this have sent a complaint to them because it's obviously NOT how they show it on the website. If at least they had said "assorted colours" they would have an excuse, but they didn't so complain to them because Buyincoins are usually really nice about these things and they either refund you partially or give you virtual coins to buy something from them again or whatever...

How to avoid and detect replicas:

  1. Most of the original products - if not all of them - come with a serial number, probably 4-5 digits. Look for it.
  2. Check posts comparing replicas and originals.
  3. Don't trust websites that aren't official retailers. I'm not saying eBay won't be selling an original Naked palette for an incredible offer, but it's definitely not common.
I once bought an OPI nailpolish from eBay and it was an original one. It cost me 5$ + 5$ P&P, which makes half of the price for an OPI nailpolish here in Spain. It was worth it and it came with its serial number. (If you're interested, I can give you the link - they ship worldwide from USA)
If you have received a replica (when you bought it thinking it was original)
  1. Use your logic. If you buy something that its RRP is 40$ and they sell it for 6$, it's definitely not going to be real. If you want to go for it, then that's okay, but don't expect the real one.
  2. If the picture doesn't match what you've received, send a complaint. It's your right to demand what they show. They will usually give you a refund.
  3. Read the conditions of the item you purchased. Do they sell it as an ORIGINAL ITEM or are they aware that they are selling a REPLICA? This is easy. If they sell it as URBAN DECAY NAKED BASICS PALETTE and they NEVER say it's just a palette similar to that one / a replica, they they're selling it as the original. However, if they sell it as "Eyeshadow palette with six different nude colours" but the picture they show is the Naked Basics... well, it's fake.
  4. IF YOU BOUGHT IT ON EBAY please keep in mind you are guaranteed your refund as ALL YOUR PURCHASES are protected under the "eBay Buy Protection" rule. If you don't get what you pay for, if your item gets lost, if what you buy is FAKE... you're guaranteed a full refund back.
My heart broke into tiny little pieces when I saw some girls excited about receiving their Naked palette and posting pictures on instagram and how they were told it was fake. I wouldn't like any of this to happen to any of my followers!

I found this on Google but I don't know the original source so if you know it let me know and I will put it here.

My tips work for all kind of purchases you do online. Or at least they should apply to most of them like MAC lipsticks, Urban Decay palettes, OPI nailpolish...

I'll be posting my review as soon as it arrives - and yes, I bought a replica knowing it was a replica. That's why I bought it since I can't afford the real thing. I've been following the hashtag #buyincoins on instagram because they always write about their orders and how fast they arrive. There are plenty of Spanish people who receive it in two weeks which is quite fast!

I really hope you found this post useful and that it helps you in your future purchases!

Have you ever bought something you thought it was real but turned out to be fake?

Review: Garnier Micellar Water Cleanser

Hello everyone!

I promised I would write a post about this product everyone keeps talking about. I thought I would give it a go since my cleanser opened due the pressure in my suitcase during my trip back from Barcelona... and so far so good!

Garnier Micellar Water (400 ml) RRP: 4€ at Carrefour.
FYI: I took this picture the exact day I bought it.

Achievement Accomplished: Wishlist Items #1

Hello lovelies!

So yes, it happened. I went out with my mother to run some errands with her and eventually I came back with some goodies which turned out to be items included in wishlists - two of them were in a mental wishlist because they were non beauty related haha!

Garnier Micellar Water Cleanser: 4€  |  Ring: 4,95€ (21% off: 3,91€) | Necklace: 9,95€ (21% off: 7,90€)

Firstly, I found that statement necklace and ring at C&A. This week was the VAT off week, so everything was 21% off. We got plenty of things (actually, yesterday I got myself a really nice dress) but as soon as I saw that necklace and ring I wanted to make them mine!

And secondly, going grocery shopping, I found the Micellar Water from Garnier! I'm finally joining the club! I'm looking forward to trying it out and writing a review on it this week I thought it was such a bargain because it was 4 euros and I've seen it around 4,99 GBP in other places... and that's definitely more than 4 euros! So I'm very happy!

What are your thoughts on the Micellar Water by Garnier?

Crissy Chats #3: Weekly Wishlist, Buyincoins and life update

Hello lovelies!

To be honest, I wasn't planning to write a post today but I've been feeling the urge to write something so here I am!

What have you been up to? I've been quite busy these days, hence the lack of beauty posts lately. I seem to be writing about plenty of things but beauty - or maybe that's my impression. I have several posts saved as drafts but I already missed last week's Crissy Chats and I felt like writing a little chit-chat post.

Weekly Wishlist

*sigh* I can't help it. Everyone keeps talking about those Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm and I don't seem to find them anywhere for some reason, but I'm very keen on getting one of them. I've also seen the Astor ones and I'm very interested in buying one. I'm starting to see more brands bringing products like that, though... even H&M! So I'll see which one will be getting home with me hopefully by the end of the week.

Also, plenty of you have been writing about the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water and both price + quantity seem so reasonable. I've heard it's around 4.99 GBP for 400 ml which is great. I'm very excited about getting it as I'm a big fan of Garnier.

Okay. I did it. I bought something from Buyincoins. Just one thing, just to try how fast they deliver and everything. They've already sent the package so I'm quite excited to receive it. If you don't know what Buyincoins is, it's an online shop that sells incredible stuff - from clothes and accessories to make up, stationery and other items. You can find anything you can find on eBay but so much cheaper. They always have sales and special offers and right now there's a 5% off in Beauty if you put the code WOMENSDAY5. Oh, and did I mention there's FREE SHIPPING

They sell plenty of dupes. I kept reading reviews on the clones they sell for MAC brushes and lipsticks, Real Techniques brushes, Too Faced palettes and Urban Decay palettes among other things... and all the clones are way cheaper than in Aliexpress / eBay. Can you guess what I've bought? I think it's an easy guess.

Credits go to the person who uploaded this picture to buyincoins

Hopefully my Naked 2 arrives safely within 14-21 days. And, yes, you can expect a review from it! Everyone keeps mentioning that the pigmentation is quite good but I'm very excited to find that out myself. I have been thinking about it for a month now but, oh well, this wonderful palette is now 5,88$ which is 4,20€... I couldn't miss the chance. I had been thinking about getting the Naked 3 which is around 6$ now but both palettes are usually 10-12$ each so... [LINK

I know it's quite scary because of the ingredients but I haven't read bad reviews on them so far. So this shall be an adventure! I keep tracking the hashtag #buyincoins on Instagram because people keep posting what they're getting (mostly UD / Too Faced palettes) and I'm soooooooooo excited! Like a kid during Christmas!

I've also read that people who had problems with Buyincoins either got a refund or got the chance to buy something else without any additional cost, which is great.

If my little experiment with Buyincoins goes well, expect future hauls!

1. Bloody Mary To Go + Kiko Digital Lacquer in red glitter 2. My feet at the tube 3. Boarding pass + strawberry & banana smoothie at the airport 4. Selfie Sunday 5. Primark Blouse + Neon Blue nails in Barcelona 6. Pug socks from Primark.

If you follow me on instagram, you're probably tired of my awesome pug socks. I've been busy keeping up with my coursework since I missed some classes when I went to Barcelona, but oh well! I'm feeling more organised everyday and there's a lifestyle post on health & fitness coming up this following week! So if you're interested just stay tuned!

Yesterday I posted a post on my lovely Sunday at my Chinese classmates' house. I enjoyed so much eating their food and chatting, I'm so looking forward to organising a Spanish meal now with them!

Also, if you're into knitting / punch needle / cross stitch, you may also like following my mum's blog. Yes, my mum is in the blogosphere. It's in Spanish but she's posting plenty of pictures and I will help posting some of them in English, too. [LINK]

And that's all, folks!

What's in your weekly wishlist? What do you think about buyincoins? And how was your weekend?

Taste of China

Estrella. Shiya, Me and Cecilia

Hello everyone!

Today I've had a lovely meal with my Chinese classmates and one of their flatmates. They came to Spain for a year a kindly invited me to eat lunch with them. I wish I could remember the exact things I ate but the names are so complicates for me. All I know is that I enjoyed it so much I can't wait to eat authentic Chinese food again! I thought I was okay with chopsticks but after this meal I know I have to practice more, I'm very clumsy. I'm looking forward to hosting a Spanish meal at my place as soon as possible. It's been a lovely Sunday with them, and time flew so quickly! I guess it's true what they say that time flies when you're having fun.

What have you been up to this weekend?

I hope you have a good Sunday!

Cristina xx

February Favourites

Hello my friends!

It's about time I write a post about my February Favourites, isn't it? To be honest, I don't have many favourites this months since I have been using practically almost the same products but I thought you would be interested in reading about it!

Barcelona Primark Haul

Hello lovelies!

Being on a spending ban was so worth it after I stepped out of Primark. This is probably going to be the only fashion haul I will do but I got so excited with my first purchases ever from Primark that I thought you would like to  see them too.

Smoky Look Eyeshadow #10 by KIKO | Yay or Nay?

Hello lovelies!

I wasn't planning to write about this but yesterday I got this item from KIKO as a gift and I thought it would be an interesting thing to review. The first time I saw this, it brought my attention and I had thought about buying it, but my best friend went to KIKO to buy something and she gave it to me as as a random present, which I appreciated because I didn't expect it!

This item is an eyeshadow presented as a crayon with an applicator to help you get the smokey look. I love the packaging and the concept, too!

Barcelona Bound

Hello lovelies! I'm back!

How are you? I'm very good! A little bit tired though because I arrived today and I woke up very early (4 am! Is that early or... late? HAHA!)
I promised I would come back with a post about the trip and the concert and here I am. I hope you enjoy reading about this!
