Going nude | MAC Viva Glam VI

Hello everyone!

I hope you guys have had a wonderful time with your loved ones. I have been travelling, hence my lack of posts but I promised I would be back and here I am, back in England!
On my birthday (January 9th) my parents spoiled me so much. Even though I did not really want to buy anything in particular, they decided they would buy me a Mac lipstick of my choice (because, of course, it is hard for them to choose one for me). I wanted to go out of my comfort zone and I decided to get a nude lipstick. Right now I have three Mac lipsticks and two of them have very bold colours (Impassioned and Rebel) so I thought it would be a very good idea to get a nude lipstick that I could wear everyday.

I did not have this one in particular in mind but after trying it on I thought it was the best one. I had something like Peach Blossom or Shy Girl in mind, but the girl from the MAC counter at El Corte Inglés in Spain was offering me the Viva Glam range.

For some reason, I never really paid attention to said range even though all the profits of their purchases go to charity but it caught my attention when she was showing me a few. She firstly tried on me Viva Glam V but I did not see any difference in my lips which made me feel a bit sad because even though I wanted a nude lipstick, I wanted it to show that I was wearing a lipstick (if that makes sense?) but then she tried Viva Glam VI and... oh, dear!

This lipstick is a Lustre finish lipstick. It's my first lustre one as Rebel is Satin and Impassioned is Amplified. Lustre lipsticks are shiny but also creemy and to be honest I did not really notice until I tried it on that it had a bit of shine. My lips look moisturised too and the colour. The only difference I noticed with my other MAC lipsticks is that this one in particular doesn't really last as much but I'm loving it.

The only thing that I don't like that much is that I feel that it does not last as much as I thought it would - however it is a gorgeous colour and I don't mind reapplying it. It is known by everyone that Lustre finish lipsticks don't last as much as Satin or Amplified. However, taking into account this is a Viva Glam lipstick, I won't feel bad repurchasing it if I have to because all the money in benefit of AIDS/HIV charities.

Do I recommend it?
Yes, it is a nice nude lipstick - and I don't usually wear nude lipsticks. However it may not be perfect for your skin tone, although for mine is just great.

Would I buy it again?
Yes, probably!

  2. Awww, it's so good to see you back on here!
The colour is just absolutely gorgeous, isn't it? I was so in love with mine (until I changed my hair colour... T.T). But I completely agree in terms of the lasting power of the Lustre shades. (All the shades I love turn out to be Lustre though... how?)

    1. HAHA, yes how?! I don't know about mines, I think they are all a bit spread out. I wanna try a matte one like Russian Red but I don't want it to dry my lips. :( I'm so happy to be baxck xxx

    1. Thank you Hannah! <3 Yes, at first I wasn't that convinced. I went to the MAC counter and they recommended me Viva Glam V but that did nothing to my lips. But after trying this and using it more I love it more everytime. Just a pity that it doesn't last as much :( xx

  5. Happy belated birthday! :) I love the Viva Glam lipsticks, that’s one of the disappointing things about Lustres is that they don’t have the longest lasting power however this is a lovely shade :)

  7. Oh no I totally missed your birthday dear! I'm sorry :( hope you had a great day anyways :))
This lipstick looks lovely! It's funny that you describe a nude as being out of your comfort zone, for other people it's the other way around right? Haha most are scared of the daring dark shades!
Have a lovely day, xx A

    1. That's totally fine, sweetheart! And yes, isn't it funny? I thought I wouldn't suit it but even my mother loves it for herself! (and she also loves my Rebel lipstick... hahahaha!) I definitely love daring shades like bright red or dark red and even purple like my Rebel lippy... but nudes?! That's a totally different world to me! Loving it so far xxx
