REVIEW | Love, Tanya

[THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS]

I'm not lying when I say that Tanya Burr got me into blogging about beauty. I was - and still am - obsessed with all her videos and looks, her style and the bubbly personality she shows on camera. It also led me to Zoella, who of course I also like very much although I miss her tutorials and beauty vlogs / blogs every now and then.

When I knew Tanya was releasing a book - I remember her saying it in a video - I thought it was going to be a great thing. In my opinion, when someone is passionate at what they do, they do it well and I think that's the case of Tanya. She loves what she does and she has worked so hard for it that it is paying off. Not only her beauty range is a success, but so are her videos and now I hope her book also becomes a great success.

I'm not saying this just because I really like her as a blogger, but because I mean it. For example when I bought It by Alexa Chung and although it was a nice book to spend some time with, it did not inspire me as much. However, I love how inspiring Love, Tanya can be.

The cover, as you can see, looks very beautiful. Like it honestly looks great. It is a nice book that you can leave on the table and look at it and sigh because it's beautiful. I love the golden shade on her name too and the pictures inside the book are just incredible. It's also a book that smells so good! I hope that doesn't sound weird, but I do love the smell of books and this one smells incredibly.

Firstly - it does follow an order. It starts with such an adorable prologue, talking about the night she launched her beauty products and the first two chapters talk about her life, family and origins. It was very interesting (and I loved how Jim and her met, it makes you think that some people really are fated!)

Something that I like is how this book can be for anyone who is interested in beauty, or in fashion, or in advice... ANYTHING! She gives her top 10 in many products as well as giving advice on how to apply a certain product and which routines should we follow. That was incredibly useful. There was this particular chapter in which she talks about makeup brushes that it's a life saver because, hey, I still struggle with all the brushes that are in the world!

As I'm trying to pursuit a healthy lifestyle - for real this time - it was great to see she was talking about it in plenty of occasions (like how working out actually makes your skin feel better and look better!) and giving great advice. Taking into account she is a woman whose audience may vary from 13 year olds to 25, it is great to see that she is being such a great example to everyone. A powerful woman who knows what she wants and works for it in her career, life and health.

Another thing I really liked is that the book is pretty much interactive. Yes, interactive. She invites you to jot down a list of a few things from childhood memories to makeup products and things you aspire to be fearless at! It gives you a few minutes to reflect on yourself and think of what you want and what you do and even see if there's something that you're doing wrong, maybe? I really liked that feeling of taking some time to think what would I write on those pages (I haven't yet, because the book is practically new and I hate writing on books!)

The book is so inspiring. It was great reading it (you can read it in one sitting like I did) and looking at the beautiful photography and page layouts. I closed the book feeling happy and powerful, like thinking that I could definitely achieve what I want. It sounds cliché, but I believe that's how this book makes you feel.

Overall, it is a great book that can be used as a reference for so many things - like, I will definitely come back to this book every now and then (specially for the recipes!) You should definitely get it for a great boost of confidence and happiness in all aspects. I can assure you that you'll close it with a smile on your face.

Love, Tanya will be released on January 29th but you can get it at Waterstone's already!

Are you planning on buying it?

  1. EEEEK it looks SO good! I cannot wait to buy it! It's honestly the only blogger blog/product that I've really wanted to get. I also LOVE her eyelashes, they are really good. I've never really had a favourite blogger/youtuber but Tanya is defo up there. Without sounding like a fan girl, she is amazing and very inspiring!

    1. The pictures don't even look as good as the book does. The light today was terrible so it's not like I could make miracles, but yay! I haven't tried her eyelashes because I don't usually wear fake eyelashes but I have tried her nail polish and oh god, LOVE IT! I wanna buy some of her lipgloss, probably I found Nemo as it's so gorgeous!

I agree with you that she is amazing and very inspiring, too!

      Thanks for reading Daisy xxxx
