YAY OR NAY? | Tangle teezer

I think it was back when I started watching youtubers when I first saw what a Tangle Teezer looked like. I remember it was in one of Zoella's videos and I thought it was a great idea - and then I remember myself looking for one online and seeing the price and saying 'meh, maybe it's not that cool'.

When I thought I had forgotten about them, Gabriella posted a video in which she talked about them and how it helped her long hair. I recall reading posts about them and watching more videos so I decided that maybe some day I'd buy one.

After being in the UK for four months, the day after I came home after Christmas holidays, I walked into Topshop and saw a pink Tangle Teezer waiting for me. I had decided that I would buy one since my hair is long and I have been struggling so much when I go out and it becomes a big mess. It doesn't help that the UK is windy and I wear massive scarves and beanies either so...

The cashier at Topshop asked me whether I had used it before or not, to which I shook my head saying no. She shared the same feeling and added that I should tell her if I see her next time if it's worth it or not.

I bought for 10 pounds The Original Tangle Teezer in pink - my favourite colour. I thought that buying the original one would be the most clever thing to do and then maybe switch to a compact or aqua splash in the future, but so far all I wanted to do is see the fuzz of this little brush.

Even though the fact that it lacks of a handle may seem annoying to some, to me it is great. Your hand will adjust perfectly to the shape of the Tangle Teezer.

Now, I don't know exactly what makes it so amazing - something about the different lengths of the pins and how it helps your hair to be healthy and glow, of course - but it is amazing. I use it after shower to detangle my hair and boy, does it work! It works faster than I thought it would and it leaves my hair such a smooth feel when I run my fingers through my hair. I'm in love with it. It is also so travel friendly that I can carry it in my purse and use it when my hair gets frizzy and horrible.

So, are the Tangle Teezers worth the hype? To be honest, in my opinion, yes they are. My hair has split ends, gets frizzy and very knotty sometimes and using this little guy has helped me a lot. Yes, I get it, they can be expensive - but if you treat yourself to a Mac lipstick, why wouldn't you treat yourself to a nice brush that will help your hair?

Do your hair a favour and get one of these!

Do you own a Tangle Teezer?

  1. I have the exact same one and I love it too! :D Especially since I wear extensions this is perfect..!
Also, as a hairdresser I would recommend this to people:-)
My only advise when it comes to the tangle teezer is that one should always get the original actual Tangle Teezer.. and not some cheaper rip off brand... as they´re simply not the same.. xx

    1. Oh yes, I've read that for extensions works amazingly! And it's good that as a hairdresser you do recommend it, you definitely know about hair and what's the best way to treat it so it's great!!!
I have never bought a cheap version of it, I've always wanted the real one and I'm happy! x

  2. I have this one too and I love it - I've had it for over a year now and it still looks like new even though I use it everyday! Sometimes bristles on normal hair brushes bend but they don't seem to on Tangle Teezers.

They have a new release soon (BlowStyling Brush) and I cannot wait for that one! I would recommend them to all :) x

  6. I've always wanted a tangle teezer, but the currency makes it even more expensive. So when I was in Sao Paulo for a little trip with my cousin I saw the cheaper brazilian version and thought "well, why not? Its half the price of the tt, so Ill give a try and if it works, Ill buy the real one". My hair is really thin so it gets tangled really easily. Add some curls and thats it. A mess. The brazilian version detangles my hair SO easily, especially since I first tried while travelling and didnt have much hair care. The thing is I THINK I get more fairy knots using it? Im not sure, could be just because of my curly hair, but I let go and started using a comb (or fingers, which is the best way to detangle your hair). Still use it sometimes, but more carefully.

  7. I am obsessed with my Tangle Teezer I actually own three haha! One for wet hair, one for dry (as my dry shampoo is dark) and then an older one I’ve had for around 6 years. I think they are fab for your hair making brushing it a lot easier :)
