LOW-KEY WISHLIST

Hi, hi! Excuse the lack of posts. I recently (two weeks ago actually, still recent, still hurting) came back to Spain from my semester abroad in the UK (sad times!) and I've been catching up with uni here.

I haven't done a wishlist in a while and I thought I would write about a low-key wishlist, and that means... items I can actually afford but for some reason I never get to buy. Although I don't think I need clothes (I've got plenty, to be honest, and I bought so many!) I feel like I could use with a few of the items from this wishlist. Same goes to the beauty products!

1. H&M (7.99€) Oh, the times I've had this in my hands when I was in the UK. For some reason I always left it - and to be fair I'm glad because it's cheaper in Spain and also because I could barely fit all my things in my suitcases...!! I think this can look pretty good both for a casual look and maybe a more elegant yet informal one if you add a statement necklace for example! (Note: The day before publishing this I bought this wonderful blouse)

2. H&M (29,99€) Maybe this isn't that 'low-key', but I'm dying to get these. Originally I was going to buy the TOPSHOP ones because the plataform was higher - and I suck at walking with heels - but I think these will be pretty comfortable as well. I'm dying to get them!

3. Maybelline Colordrama in Berry Much (6,90€) I already own one of these and I'm in love. I saw one of my friends getting Berry Much and it looked AMAZING on her lips so I thought I'd give it a go - for some reason, I'm really loving using purpleish colours on my lips now!

4. FLAWLESS palette by Makeup Revolution (10,85€): One doesn't have enough palettes, right? I'm in love with this one and unfortunately I couldn't get it before leaving the UK! So I plan on ordering it online when payday comes...!!

Mastering the effortless look

The effortless look must be one of my favourites because, as the name says, it looks effortless and you don't really have to put much effort on it (I personally don't). This is the look I've been choosing lately for small occasions, although the last time I did this look - when these pictures were taken - was for a casual family lunch.

Three reasons why I don't support the Fifty Shades of Grey saga

This may sound radical, but I have a few reasons why I will not watch Fifty Shades of Grey this weekend. I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I would like to give you some perspective on why that saga and now franchise is harmful to their audience. I want to say that I tried to read the book but I had to stop reading it.

While reading it, I felt frustrated. Both characters represent two very well known archetypes: Anastasia Steele is a Mary Sue. For those who don't know what a Mary Sue is an idealized character, too perfect, too good and probably an alter-ego of the author. In this case, Anastasia Steele is 'too perfect' and 'too good' and allows Christian Grey do whatever she wants with her because it seems like she lacks of some sort of will. Christian Grey is the second archetype: the asshole with a dark past that "justifies" his behaviour.

I want to say before I go into the topic, that I respect everyone's opinion and I understand that people may or may not love this story, but I want to explore in this post how love is portrayed in the whole saga and why it's so harmful.

Brighton Bound

Probably my last big trip in the UK will be this one: Brighton. From February 3rd til the 4th, my friend and me decided to visit Brighton. I have always wanted to ever since I discovered that place existed. My expectations were high and I was so excited that I barely could hide said excitement.
I wanted to explore the pier, the coast, The Lanes and just enjoy a few days to relax. We were on a budget after spending 50 pounds on our trip here by National Express but it was all worth it.

Our journey began at 1:35 am from Sheffield. We took a bus to London and the journey was five hours. It was crowded but in a bad way. I don't like criticising, but there was this family who weren't respectful at all. They decided to sleep in the bus and take two seats each so they could lay down when most of the people had to sit down each one on their seats (like it's normal). It was unfair because of course everyone wants to sleep and everyone wants to relax but nobody complained.
Everytime I fell asleep, I'd wake up because the coach stopped or because it was a bumpy ride. However when I woke up at around 6 it was so beautiful because I saw London through the coach and how it snowed like crazy. So beautiful!
We took a break and ate something at Caffe Nero in Victoria Station before our bus at 8 am to Brighton, in which I actually slept a bit more.

The arrival was beautiful. We stopped at Pool Valley Station and saw the pier. Thankfully, our hostel was very close to that area. I do recommend it so much! It's called Smart Brighton Beach. We booked a private room which looked like a proper hotel room with breakfast included for almost 20GBP each the night. It was so worth it, I must say.

We visited everything in one day. Walked around The Lanes, checked the shopping area at Churchill Square and walked around the famous Brighton Pier. However, on the second day, we decided to visit the coast more in depth and also eat something from Choccywoccydoodah which was, obviously, delicious.

The pier was probably one of my favourite things, although I spent a ridiculous amount of money trying to win a minion. Eventually I didn't, but it was worth the try.
I'm from Mallorca so I know Mallorca has wonderful beaches and great landscapes, however I must say Brighton captivated me. It was peaceful and lovely and seeing the sunset was such a wonderful experience. I'd love to come back someday.

Have you ever been to Brighton?

WISHLIST | Apparel Candy

Recently I discovered Apparel Candy. They contacted me and let me tell you that they do justice to their name. There's some eye candy in that website, and the best part is that they have nice clothes for a cheap prices. I was also surprised to see that they sell wholesale clothes which may be handy when you need the same basic top!

I found very nice things in this website and I came up with this outfit idea for this upcoming Spring - Summer. The very first thing is this knitted brown cardigan that seems lightweight and such a nice layer to add when it's not hot enough to wear just a blouse. It's just 7,50$ which is such a bargain for a cardigan like this! I would then wear this colourful blouse which seems relaxed and comfortable. As accessories: this peachy bag (I'm so in love with this!) for 7,50$ and these vintage style sunglasses, perfect for a day out. Did I mention that the sunglasses are 2,50$? What a bargain.

I invite you all to check this website out and find something you like! Personally, their handbags are all adorable, it was hard to pick just one for this outfit!

JANUARY IN GRAPHICS

I wanted to show you guys how amazing January has been so far. I decided to make an infographic because I thought it would be a fun and innovative thing to do with the highlights of this month. In this case, I wanted to tell you about the places I've been.
