Crissy Chats | On Authenticity

Source: Pinterest

It's 2015 and everyone still advices you to be yourself. You have no idea how useful that advice actually is! From motivational songs to Hollywood Stars trying to convince you that they were also outcasts once, the message is the same: "Be yourself, everyone else is taken", said Oscar Wilde once.

I read a blog post earlier this week about authenticity and stating 30 random and weird facts about yourself. The blog is CAUTIVAR and she tagged everyone, so I'm going to tag everyone too. We're awesome the way we are, even with our quirky personalities and pet-peeves. We rock.

Anyway, without further ado, here go my 30 weird facts about myself.

  1. I love the smell of onions cooking.
  2. I could eat avocados all day.
  3. I don't like to have my music in my phone. No. Never. I have an iPod for that. I only listen to music on my iPhone when it runs out of battery.
  4. I freak out easily when I have to go to a new place on my own. I need to make sure I know where it is and that I arrive there on time, even if that means arriving an hour earlier... yes, that has happened.
  5. I really listen to all sorts of music.
  6. I have never broken a bone before.
  7. I love being in front of people in class presentations and just whatever. I may feel a bit awkward at first, but most of the time I enjoy the attention.
  8. I collect cool and random mugs, from souvenirs to geeky mugs to random mugs that I find pretty.
  9. I like teaching myself things.
  10. I can be a bit picky with food
  11. I hate hiking - with passion. Just don't make me go hike a mountain to see the view, let's just go for a walk around the harbour.
  12. I've been told it is impossible to remember this, but I remember with clarity the moment I jumped off my crib, why I jumped off it and all the smallest details. I was 2 years old.
  13. I do everything with music when I'm alone. Walking, studying, showering, cooking... I just love it.
  14. I voluntarily stopped drinking regular milk to drink almond drink, and I like it.
  15. When I was younger, I was scared of the thieves in Sims because of the background music. Nowadays it still shocks me.
  16. Games like Slender, Amnesia or any sort of game in which you are trapped/running away from something makes me feel claustrophobic and uncomfortable. Yet, I enjoy watching the gameplays even if they still scare me and I feel tense.
  17. I'm scared of heights but I still get on rollercoasters.
  18. However, I HATE rides in which they lift you up and then they just let you down... LITERALLY. I just can't. They could be paying me millions and I'd be crying, having a tantrum in order to AVOID the ride.
  19. Even though I'm on every social media, I'm very private with most of my things. Probably that's why on my Facebook you can only see funny videos and songs...
  20. I love cameras. I collect them, too. When I visit a flea market, I check for cameras. That's how I got myself a Polaroid camera for 10€ - AND IT WORKS.
  21. Even though teaching is now my dream job, I enjoy doing it a lot and I wouldn't mind doing it for a while.
  22. I used to read lots and lots of Manga but I never knew I could actually read them online until I was a teen, so I have a very nice collection of mangas... sadly, most of them are incomplete because I always wanted to read something new. I used to buy one volume every month.
  23. I recently learnt how to ride a bike. But I need a bike to keep on practising.
  24. I can't rollerblade or ice-skate.
  25. I wish I were more sporty. I enjoy sports, I just know I'm not fit enough to enjoy them to the fullest now even though I used to play them when I was younger.
  26. And that's the reason why I'm doing yoga recently and I love it.
  27. I'm not quite sure what's my relationship with religion, but I was born in a Catholic family and I went to a Catholic school.
  28. When I was a little kid, I used to be scared of boats because of Titanic and because I didn't want to get in a boat if it shipwrecked without my father and my brothers (you know, women and kids first!)
  29. I work really well under pressure because I give the best of me when there's little time.
  30. I used to go to music lessons when I was little, but I got bored because we weren't going to play the piano until the following year. I regret not going to further music lessons because I really wanted to learn how to play the piano and the violin.

What's a weird fact about yourself?!
